Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Councilwoman Linea Palmisano will meet virtually Friday (October 23, 2020) with 8th Graders from Ascension and St. John Paul II Catholic Schools. The event is part of a unit Middle school English Language Arts teachers have been planning together since summer. The unit is “What Matters,” and the essential question is, “When you take a stand, how much does winning matter?” Scholars have been reading and discussing ways to address police use of force. The scholars submitted a list of questions that cover topics including policing, COVID, the economy and the environment.
